3rd February 2012 - WOW, WHERE DID JANUARY GO?!

That has to be the quickest month ever. Just as we finish moaning about Christmas, it's soon going to be Valentine's Day!

If you're thinking of cooking for your loved one on February 14th, remember chef John Barton has a cracking 3-course recipe in the current edition of In The Know. Serious brownie points available there.

We are now working on the April - June edition of our Shrewsbury magazine and want to say a HUGE THANKS to all our readers and advertisers. It ain't easy launching a magazine and your support has been INVALUABLE.

Distribution to 9,000 homes has pretty much been completed now and there are hundreds of extra copies available at:

20th December 2011 - ISSUE 3 HAS ARRIVED!

Yup, the January - March 2012 edition is back from the printers and looking hot.

Distribution of our third issue begins on Thursday 29th December, with 9,000 delivered to various homes across Shrewsbury.

Additional copies will also be available through numerous coffee shops, bars, Salop Leisure and Shrewsbury Town Football Club.

That's 10,000 copies in total, way higher than most of the competition.

19th October 2011 - COMPETITION ENTRIES HOTTING UP

We've had loads of people enter the competitions in Issue 2 of In The Know, from dinner for four at The Bellstone to panto tickets and a free photo shoot. Why not have a go yourself? They're all free to enter.

Copies of the magazine can be picked up from The Bellstone, Theatre Severn, Old Market Hall, the Rural Enterprise Centre....

Issue 2 (October - December) will also be going online very, very soon. The wonder of the information super highway.

23rd September 2011 - THE CHRISTMAS ISSUE HAS ARRIVED

Yes, the October-December edition of In The Know is back from Precision Colour Printing and they've done another cracking job.

We are currently sending copies out to everyone who contributed to the magazine and then main distribution will start next week. The Chronicle will be delivering 9,000 to certain postcodes in Shrewsbury and another 1,000 will be available in a number of town centre coffee shops and bars.

The Bellstone Hotel is the main place to pick up a copy in town, plus you have Theatre Severn and Salop Leisure too.

Once distribution has begun, we will also make Issue 2 available to read online.

Most of all, we hope you enjoy it. We think it's looking great but then we are slightly biased....

12/09/11 - GOING TO PRINT ON ISSUE 2!

Here at In The Know Towers, we've been working like Santa's elves on our bumper Christmas issue. Yes, we are at the final proofing stage and going to print on Wednesday.

There have been a few panics but nothing that's seen Emma issue divorce proceedings. We've had some great articles come in, all packed with top tips, stories and informal advice in general. The last thing we want people thinking is, "Oh no, not another stuffy magazine!"

We hope you enjoy reading the October-December edition. As well as 10,000 copies going out across Shrewsbury, it will be available to view online. The lovely guys at Verve Design installed a page flipper thingummybob on the homepage, where Issue 1 can still be read.

Any feedback or suggestions for next year, feel free to let us know.

17/08/11 - October-December edition is coming along nicely

We'll be going to print on our bumper festive issue in a month's time. The content is pretty much all wrapped up, with everything from fitness to foodie stuff, social media tips and top Winter breaks.

We are now taking advertising bookings, so if you know of a great local business that would like to appeal to a great audience, please pass them our details. We will be distributing 10,000 copies from the beginning of October, a genuinely high circulation for a local magazine.

Costs start at just £150+vat for a whole 3 months' exposure.

Go on. You know you want to.

27/07/11 - Work on Issue 2 about to start....

Where did that time go then? It seems like we've only just finished work on the first ever edition and now October-December has come about already!

Very positive feedback continues to come in for In The Know, with lots of interest in the competitions we're running. If you haven't picked up a copy yet or had one through your door, read the online version - you can still enter the comps that way.

So, what have we got lined up for Issue 2? Well, October-December is going to be our bumper Christmas edition.... How about MasterChef John Barton giving us all his perfect Christmas goose recipe? A guide to cool present buying. Android phone reviews. A Day in the Life at Shrewsbury Town Football Club. STFC chef Paul Crowe talks about player nutrition. Become a kettlebells fitness genius. The list goes on....

As In The Know is a free-of-charge magazine, we are dependent on the advertising features. If you know of a great business in Shrewsbury that would like to put themselves in front of tens of thousands of local people from just £150+vat, please point them in our direction!

08/07/11 - Issue 1 still going strong

Many thanks for the continuing feedback on Issue 1. The door-to-door distribution has finished plus copies are available to read / take away from a number of Shrewsbury town centre locations, including Theatre Severn, The Bellstone, Number 4 Butcher Row, Arthurs Cafe, Soy Oriental Express, Serenity....

That's 10,000 copies in total.

30/06/11 - In The Know is out there....

9,000 lovely copies of the launch July - September issue are now being delivered thanks to the Shrewsbury Chronicle.  It won't be in every single copy - they deliver over 14,000 - but maybe one day...!  A further 1,000 copies will also be available through affiliate Shrewsbury shops, bars and restaurants, so keep your eyes peeled.

The early feedback we've been receiving is excellent, which bodes well for October - December. It's going to be a bumper festive issue, full of Christmas cheer, informal advice and stories, great adverts and regular columns such as Ask Vinnie and Our Man in the City.

As ever, your feedback is appreciated. Maybe you'd like to be a part of Issue 2. Perhaps you're a Shrewsbury business owner who wants to promote yourself out in a unique publication. Whatever, drop us a line.

14/06/11 - We're now closing on Issue 1

Cue much sleeping, seeing my kids again and even having a holiday. Cheers Leighann at Travel Counsellors for sorting that one out.

A HUGE thank you once more to the Shrewsbury folk and businesses who have supported us for the July - September edition - we're glad you're a part of this exciting new venture.

If Issue 1 has not come through your door by early July, look out for it in town through our participating shops, bars and restaurants. We are already planning Issue 2 (October - December), so we'll be talking Christmas very soon....

02/06/11 - D Day is almost upon us

Issue 1 of In The Know goes to print on June 16th. Can't believe it's come around so quickly. We've got a super magazine lined up, more jam-packed than a jar of, er, jam. Articles, top tips, How To columns, advertisements for great Shrewsbury businesses, our agony column 'Ask Vinnie'.... What we think is a top read and we hope you'll agree come July when Issue 1 is out.

Again, 9,000 copies are being delivered to Shrewsbury homes with a further 1,000 distributed through affiliate bars, shops and restaurants.

I'm proofreading as we speak, so am totally square eyed, tired... but happy. Many thanks to all the people and Shrewsbury businesses who have supported the launch. And once the July-September issue is out, I'm sure there'll be even more of a buzz about it.

I can't believe it's almost summer already, although you wouldn't think so looking at the pouring rain outside. Summer in Shrewsbury means cocktails by the river, live music in The Quarry and of course the launch of In The Know....

Yes, the brand new lifestyle magazine for the Shrewsbury area is coming out at the very end of June, the beginning of July. Distributed free of charge to 9,000 homes as well as a further 1,000 available at various shops, bars and restaurants around town. Keep your eyes peeled, grab a copy and let us know what you think. So pretty much everyone's having the day off on Friday to celebrate the marriage of William and Catherine. What a way to kickstart the wedding season!
